Birds I've seen lately

Here are a few of the birds that have visited us lately.


This female Cardinal came to the feeder at daybreak to fill up on seeds.

 

The Brown-headed Nuthatch is so fast, it's hard to get a picture! 

There's too much shadow where this feeder is located to get a good picture.

The Chipping Sparrow is much easier to photograph, because he will sit still for a few seconds.

 

I got lucky and got two in one shot!

The Eastern Bluebird doesn't eat the seed, but comes to bathe in the water often, even when it's cold.

The Mockingbird is beautiful, but a real pest as it pecks at his reflection in the window.

I like to see the male Cardinals in winter when their feathers are so brilliant.

The Carolina Wren is another speedy little bird!  And also very loud!

This picture on the male Pine Warbler was made some time ago.  I've seen only one of these this winter.

We saw our first Goldfinch a few days ago.  We usually see a lot of them at the feeders in the winter.

There is usually a Mourning Dove around to gather up what the other birds spill.
