Yesterday

We had a wonderful day at McAdams United Church yesterday!  It was not sunny and bright, like it was when this picture was made!  There was a slow and steady rain, all the way there and back!  Jeep felt brave and 'let' me do all the driving :)  We got there in time for most of the Sunday school lesson.  I thought the worship service went smoother than the previous one, which was our first one there.  For the special music, Jeep played and sang "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem".  Our congregational hymns were "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear", O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Joy to the World".  The text for the sermon was Luke 3:7-18.   They presented Jeep with a beautiful calendar and a generous check in a Christmas card.

After the service, we met downstairs in the Fellowship room for a delicious pot-luck meal.  The congregation from the Baptist church across the street comes over for this once a month meal on the 3rd Sunday.  The hall was beautifully decorated for Christmas, complete with a tree.  The meal was delicious and we met lots of very friendly people.  We felt very comfortable and welcome!  As we left, they gave us a Poinsettia and a bag of "Happies", thanks to two very special ladies!  We look forward to serving this warm and friendly church!

I hope you are a part of a church such as this!

Praise God for the fellowship of believers. I am sure you and Jeep will make this place even warmer than it was.

How wonderful! Jeep's message in song was mama's favorite! I know it was beautiful and such a blessing to the congregation.
The lunch and friendly folks sound perfect. God bless you and yours this Christmas.
