Listen to the Mockingbird!

While walking around the yard (with camera in hand) this Mockingbird kept flying close to me and singing loudly.

I think I must have been close to the nest and he/she wanted to distract me away from it.

Here it is singing to the top of it's voice.

The Mockingbird wanted to be sure I got the message to stay away from the nest!  Below is a neat video of "Listen to the Mockingbird".

Fantasy Flight

About mid-morning the butterflies come out of the woods and head straight for the flowers.  I had fun this morning shooting these pictures.  This one looks dreamy or like a fantasy to me.

(Friday Update:  The picture above won  Approvers Choice award in Wunder Photos yesterday.)

This one likes the bloom of the Garlic plant!

I hope you enjoy seeing these, at least half as much as I enjoyed making them.

Today I'm thankful for finding the beauty of God's creation in everyday places!

I'm always chasing........

BUTTERFLIES!

The Butterfly Bush is in full bloom and it really attracts them.  The wind was so fierce yesterday that it was hard to get a shot.  Here are some of the ones I did get.

Opening of the Gardenia

I like the way the tight bud looks before it opens into a bloom.

This is from a cutting that my sister rooted for me.

It's near the veranda, so when we are out there, we can enjoy it's sweet perfume.

I wish I could include the wonderful, sweet fragrance of the Gardenia, along with the pictures:-)

The Owl and the Pussy Cat

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
'O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
          You are,
          You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!'
II
Pussy said to the Owl, 'You elegant fowl!
    How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?'
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
          His nose,
          His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.

III
'Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?' Said the Piggy, 'I will.'
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
    Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
          The moon,
          The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

People are Watching YOU!

This post reminds me that wherever we go, whatever we say or do, people are watching us and listening to what we say.

Check out my Pastor's blog post about Jeep:

The Bluebirds are busy feeding their babies.

Waiting on the wire with a bug for her babies.

Jeep and I enjoyed sitting out in the backyard trying to get a shot of the Hummingbirds.
Here he is with his new lens.  Looks like he's happy with it!
