SMALL MIRACLE

Do you believe in small miracles? We Do! Eight months ago we tried to get someone to build a cover over our newly poured patio. They were sort of vague about it and said they had a lot of work ahead of us, but would consider the cost and let us know. We never heard back from them.

Fast forward to the present....during some of the recent storms, we lost some of our shingles and a leak appeared in our garage. That day we called our insurance company and the adjuster came out within a few hours and looked at our damage. He said that we also had previous damage from hail and that we needed a whole new roof. They said they would send us a check for replacing it, less the deductible. We then called Stevie, who had done work for us previously and he came out, gave us a price and we agreed for him to do the work. We explained that we would like to get the cover for the patio built and get the whole thing covered at the same time. He called us back with the name of a carpenter who was in the process of building three houses but they were all on hold waiting for concrete and that we might be able to get him to do the job. We called and he came out within a few hours and agreed to build the cover for the patio. The next day they came out and made good progress in the time they worked and are to come back Monday morning and plan to finish this next week.

We think it is a small miracle if all this happens as planned! It is no small feat to get workers to do jobs like this and especially to get them so quickly just when you need them.
SOMEONE must be looking out for us!

Pretty Birds at our feeder

These are a few of the beautiful birds we have enjoyed seeing at our feeder this winter. We thought the American Goldfinch had to have thistle seed, but we found that they like black sunflower seed, too. Some of them have a little trouble getting to the tasty little kernel. These are some of the colorful blessings that brighten my day!

Mr. Red Bird

This is what I found this morning when I checked the bird feeder. We have had a lot of pretty Cardinals, Purple Finch and Goldfinch at the feeder since Christmas. I really have enjoyed making pictures of them and posting them on Weatherundreground's wunder photos. The sun has finally come out after a very rainy day and night. All is well!
