Quarantined Easter

Quarantined Easter:   For us, it was probably the very best Easter we have had in a long time.  While we missed having our family here for a big meal and seeing the children hunting eggs, etc., we so enjoyed this quiet time focusing on the real meaning of Easter.  We watched the online services of Jeep's two sons, Doug and Jeff and his grandson, Wesley, who are all United Methodist pastors, as well as the services of several other pastors we know.  We 'attended' the online Maundy Thursday service and took Holy Communion with them at our computer after they blessed our elements.  I fixed two tiny glasses of wine and a roll for our Communion. We attended Good Friday services and Saturday night drive in church with Amory UMC, where Wesley is pastor.  We held hands as we repeated the Lord's Prayer, the apostles creed and through all the prayers .  Besides all that, I didn't have to spend the day in the kitchen, because we had some good 'left-overs' from the day before!  I can't remember ever having a more meaningful Easter!!!
