Car Wash Day

We bought this van in 2007 before we went on our honeymoon trip.  It has served us well and taken us on lots of other trips safely.  It was in bad need of a good wash job, and not just a drive-thru job.  We had been too close to road construction and gathered lots of tar.  It took me most of the day, but I finally got 'er done!  I think I'll just let it sit in the garage and use the car.  Don't want to mess this one up!

Ground level view

Getting 4 wheels clean took up lots of time.  I had to sit on the step-stool to do this and also to wash the top of the van.

As you can see by the reflection, it was a sunny day and the perspiration did flow!

Getting all the bugs off the front bumper was one of the hardest parts of this job.  That's Jeep's HAM Radio call sign on the tag, and the tag holder represents his favorite team, the Boston Celtics.
If you decide to give your car a good wash, here is my advice,  Assemble everything you need in advance, take lots of breaks, and drink lots of liquids!
This was my first and probably the last time to wash the van :)

The Sky Tonight

As we walked our mile about sunset, the sky was filled with Mare's Tail clouds.

After the sun went down, the clouds turned gold and then slowly changed to pink.

These pictures have not been edited.

This is just the way it looked.

No need to enhance the beauty that God created!

The pink clouds were not only in the West but also overhead and around to the East, too!

I thought this cloud looked like an Angel.
May Angels watch over you and keep you safe.
Have a blessed Sunday

Happy Fall.....

Are you looking forward to the Fall season as much as I am?  It's my favorite time of year!

One of the first things to change color in the Fall, is the Sumac bush.   In some places it can become a tree.

This is a close-up of the Sumac bush.

The common Sweet-gum tree sports leaves of all colors!

Sassafras turns an amazing shade of red.

Maples of all kinds are so pretty in the Fall.

Even Virginia Creeper, which we consider a pest, becomes an eye-popping crimson.

You can always count on Sugar Maple being gorgeous!
I hope your Fall is cool and colorful!

(these pictures were not made this year!)

Getting Ready for Flight

My darling little Hummers are busy getting ready for their flight South for the winter.

This one is wary of a rival flying overhead.

Their tongue is not like a straw.....they lap the nectar up.
They perch in the butterfly bush where they either wait their turn at the feeder or dive at the other birds trying to feed.  They will all be gone by the middle of October.

"Common Cents"

Common Cents is the name of this fairly new business in town.  It is located in a large building  where they used to manufacture Dixie Craft boat trailers.

There are many spaces or booths marked off for venders to display their wares.

The seller does not have to be there at the time of a sale, as each item is marked and the owner or manager of the business keeps up with everything.

I assume the venders pay a fee for their space each month.

This new business (Common Cents) has expanded twice, and I understand that they are going to expand again!

Any time you pass by, it looks like they have lots of customers.

I have only been there this one time, but I want to go back soon and look around.

You never know what you will be able to find in a place like this.

There are some hand made items,

some real antiques

and some used items.

If you like 'antiqueing', junkin', or just looking for bargains, you are bound to like this place!!!

Not that anything here is 'junk', you know the old saying, "One man's trash is another man's treasure".
You will probably find a 'treasure' here!
