Beautiful Quilt

About 19 cousins and kin enjoyed a meal, fellowship and a dash of music at my cousin Sue's house last night.

This beautiful quilt was started by her mother-in-law and when she became too ill to continue, Sue finished embroidering the squares and quilted it using a hoop.

In the close-up picture maybe you can see the tiny quilting stitches.  The stitches were marked off with little blue dots.  It's a really beautiful quilt!

Seeing this almost makes me want to make a quilt!

I'm a Great-Grandma!

First things, first!  A trip to the cigar store was a must!

Just part of our waiting room crew!  There are more back in the Labor & Delivery Suite!  At one time, I counted 26 family/supporters/future baby sitters!

After we got word that the baby had arrived and they were okay, we waited to get to see her.

We finally got to see the mother and new baby!

Precious miracle!

The new little family

With Maggie Leigh's Granddaddy looking on, Great-Granny got to hold her shortly after she was born!

Many prayers were lifted as we waited throughout the day and half the night.
I think I heard a collective sigh of relief when we got the news that she had arrived
and that mother and baby were okay!
Next time I will post about her homecoming day, which was May 31, 2014
